A student who is looking for a tutor would want to know that he or she can find a suitable one. But before going on to search for such a person, it is advisable to come up with a written resume. The first page of your tutor resume must be all about your experience and the type of tea ching that you do. Include here your latest project, including the outcome and the result of the project.Another essential part of your tutor resume is the language. However, don't go into detail just yet. It should also contain the required information like name, contact number, and email address of the tutor. You should also include your basic qualifications if you are a tutor and if you are not then the prospective tutor would have to inquire about that. Of course, it should be short and sweet so that the prospective tutor can easily understand it. Although it is your tutor resume, it should not be too long as this may attract the eyes of the potential tutor and might cause him or her to read only the first page of your resume. The last part of your tutor resume is the teaching qualification and you should include here how many years you have been teaching. This is the most vital information that a potential tutor should know about you. Just be assured that the tutors and the students alike are very particular about this and would ask for this information. One of the most important points that you should also remember is that in order to stand out among the crowd, your tutor resume should also be filled with alluring and relevant information. This includes the accomplishments that you have done, details of your activities, and even details about you and your spouse. It would help if you could also mention your hobbies as well. The information you provide in your resume should always be presented in an appealing manner so that it could catch the attention of the reader. Writing Resume For Job Application
Writing Resume For Job ApplicationWhen you begin a writing resume for job application, one of the first things you will need to do is write an outline for your resume. This is a very important step in your resume writing experience because it will help you stay organized as you go along. Besides, it also will help you brainstorm so that you can come up with something that will be interesting to the employer. Here are some of the things you should include in your resume outline.First, include your first document that you created at work. This should include the date, name, and title of the document and a brief description of what it does. Use the same information in the writing resume for job application. For example, include the name of the document's main function on the first page. This is the first thing that your employer will see.Second, include a professional link to your current or previous employer. Keep in mind that your resume will be used by many different employers. Make sure that the link is going to be used by each different employer. It will help you in your writing resume for job application if you include your primary employer and the last employer that you worked for.Third, include a point to point summary. Use the same information from your document in your resume. Just use different words. This is helpful to employers when they are reviewing your resume. An interviewer or recruiter can then pick up on what is being written and understand your point to point summary.Fourth, include a personal statement in your own section. This will help you relate to your resume. It will give the employer something to know about you that will help them decide if you are a good fit for the job or not.Fifth, include a summary in your resume. The summary will tell the employer how you came to find yourself working for this employer. Provide a short paragraph with a good introduction and a short summary of your experience at the company. Then, provide a list of skills that you have learned from working for this employer. Finally, include your contact information so that the employer can reach you.Sixth, include a cover letter and attach the resume to your application. The cover letter should highlight your skills and abilities. If you were able to obtain employment at this company because of your skills, then include that information in your cover letter. It will help the employer to find out if you are a good fit for the position or not.Writing resume for job application doesn't have to be difficult. However, it can become so if you aren't organized and don't use some of the tips above. Follow these tips and your resume writing experience will be fun and enjoyable.

Are university educations the best you can get
Are university educations the best you can get 0 Flares 0 Flares Work Placements and Qualifications Can Give an Edge in the Employment Market Finding the right type of job is never an easy task, especially in todayâs competitive employment market. Making the choice between obtaining a university degree and plunging straight into employment can also be difficult task but obtaining a qualification may give you an edge during that job hunt. No two employers are alike when it comes to the qualities they desire from potential employees but having a mix of qualifications and work experience on your resume may be a winning combination. Work placements and qualifications Graduates can have just as tough a time as anyone when it comes to finding a suitable job and having that degree doesnât guarantee instant employment. Most potential employers will look favorably on those who have studied to obtain their qualifications but some can be concerned about a lack of actual job experience. Todayâs universities understand this employer concern, which is why âon the jobâ training has now become a major part of degree courses. Employment via higher education For many students itâs not an either/or decision when it comes to work and study. Many do have part-time jobs while attending university in order to help with funding throughout their college life. However, some educational institutes do advise against working and some actually ban this practice altogether due to the already high curriculum workloads. Seeking out those courses that include work-experience can be one way to achieve an employment status on your resume without the need to take on additional work outside of your course. International employment considerations Having some type of formal qualification can give you the edge over your competitors and not just in the U.S. Studying and working abroad has always been an excellent way to gain some life experience, see the world and obtain international employment experience on a resume. Business programmes in Manchester for example offer work experience and internships to help students enhance their professional development. Graduates should keep in mind that there is stiff competition for jobs in major international cities. In London for example, approximately 60% of the workforce is made up of graduates and the amount of working-age adults in the UK with a degree has doubled in size in the last 20 years. Students do of course have the option of studying through foreign higher educational institutes and this can sometimes lead to employment opportunities abroad. Additional benefits of a degree A degree can open many doors and there are additional benefits including better pay levels and enhanced career opportunities. Non-graduates are often limited when it comes to their job choices although there is the chance to progress within the company they work for. However, many non-graduates do make the choice to attend higher education later in life, mainly due to qualifications providing more job opportunities. Having a degree under your belt at an earlier age does mean years of initial study but once you have obtained that qualification you can then begin to set your career path immediately. There are definite benefits to holding higher educational qualifications in the workplace arena. A degree plus some work experience is probably one of the most attractive propositions for employers and may be just the edge needed to win that desired job. Image by CollegeDegrees360,

How to figure out your skills -
How to figure out your skills - To thine own self be true. Its more than just a line from Shakespeare! Wouldnt it be nice if everyone who worked had the luxury of spending their work hours doing something that they enjoyed and was true to their values and skills? If you are considering a new career, have you done any thinking about how that career intersects with who you are (or want to be)? Focusing your your values is one way to help direct your search. Check out the University of Minnesotas Values Inventory to get you thinking about your values and what you really want in terms of work. Another strategy is to focus on skills. So many job seekers cant really identify what they have to offer in the way of skills. This is a real problem when it comes to the self-marketing, self-selling and interviewing aspects of the job search. Ive said it before: If you dont know what you have to offer, who does? There are many ways to approach figuring out your skills. There is a basic one that I advise my clients to consider: look at a skills list. Highlight all of the skills youve EVER used or could remotely be related to you. Then, go back and check off the skills that really resonate and feel like you. This is a basic, not time consuming and free way to get you thinking about your skills. Another idea look at job descriptions that interest you. Highlight the parts that you know you are qualified to do. If most of the job is highlighted, you will have an idea of a direction you may want to go with your career. Another suggestion is to use an on-line skills profiler tool. This instrument allows you to identify and match skills used in a variety of different jobs with specific occupations. You can search by skills or start with occupations. This tool may give you some new ways of thinking about how you can use your transferable skills. Personality and occupational tests are tools to help focus your plans. John Hollands Occupational Test functions on the belief that people who have similar interests may prefer the same types of work environments. It aims to categorize your interests, abilities and personality into themes that may then be grouped to target careers. This is one of many personality driven assessments available that may help focus your goals. Another tool to explore is the Myers-Briggs personality test. This is a free, limited version, but every time I take it, I wind up with the same result as the full-blown test I took in graduate school, so it cant be too bad! While taking a lot of skills inventories on your own is not an ideal way to decide on a next step, you may learn a thing or two, or be compelled to seek coaching. (I dont do this type of coaching, but I would be happy to refer you to a qualified colleague!) photo by books52

Hate Your Job Why Millennials Shouldnt Fear Quitting
Hate Your Job Why Millennials Shouldn't Fear Quitting An irony in my career, given that I write about money, is that my first job at age 22 paid more than my current job, at 29. Yet I love my job today, just as I am certain that quitting that first jobâ"a financial management consultant position I grew to hate after only a couple of monthsâ"was one of the best decisions Iâve ever made. I was lucky: The reason I disliked my job wasnât an unsafe workplace, unkind boss, or unfair pay. I was simply bored by a position that turned out to be less interesting and meaningful than advertised. But the thing about boredom is it can really eat away at youâ"at your sense of worth and your enthusiasm to get up in the morning. When I found myself constantly looking at the clock, daydreaming about the weekend, and, eventually, crying in the bathroom at the very thought of coming in the next day, I knew I needed a change. So I lined up a teaching job in China and gave my notice, after only two months at the consultancy. As short a stint as that was, recent research suggests that an increasing number of millennials are in the same boat. That is, they are spending less time at their first jobs after graduation than young people have in the past. That trend has accelerated even within the last year, with fewer graduates staying at jobs past the one-year markâ"and a growing number leaving after three months (or less): Why might that be? Well, for one, research shows that only 38% of young adults under age 30 express deep satisfaction with their jobsâ"compared with 63% for people age 65 and up. This might seem unsurprising at first glance, since older people have had more time to build confidence and get established in their careers. But millennials arenât just feeling unfulfilled because they are low on the totem pole; the current job market is also to blame. More than 40% of recent college graduates say they werenât able to find a job in their desired field, according to a recent McKinsey study. The survey also found that almost half of graduates from four-year colleges report being in jobs that donât require a four-year degree. âMany in the millennial generation are taking jobs that they are over-qualified for and thus are eager to move on when something better appears,â says Bob Funk, CEO of Express, the firm that conducted the job duration survey. Plus, he adds, âweâve seen a decrease in employeesâ commitment to employers as a higher value is placed on personal advancement.â All of this is to say that if youâre unhappy at your first job and are contemplating quitting, youâre not alone. Still, figuring out when and how to make a move is tricky. Here are three tips on making a smooth switch, from former hiring manager Alison Green, author of askamanager.org. 1. Be honest with yourself. Green has spoken with workers who have stuck around in bad jobs, despite serious problems at work like sexual harassment, because of fears about money, security, and student loans. âIf you are truly miserable, you should trust your gut and not be too afraid to lean on savings, a spouse, family, or part-time work instead,â says Green. âFor those who donât have that luxury, keep your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel and direct your energy into finding a better job in the meantime.â http://www.payscale.com/js/psextension-min.js?1 http://www.payscale.com/syndication/start_large_v3r.aspx?instance=1js=1v=1af=job=city=state=country=United%20Statestextcolor=333333backgroundcolor=a5d34c Accurate, real-time salaries for thousands of careers. Itâs also worth doing a little soul searching as soon as you start to feel unhappy, to see whether the problem truly lies with your boss or the positionâ"or if the real culprit is your attitude. One litmus test is to try to behave differently for a week and figure out if that makes you happier. For example, if you normally sit back and wait for assignments, speak up and volunteer. Conversely, if youâre typically too willing to please, try to dial back on how much responsibility youâre taking on at once. 2. Line up another job before you quitâ"but not just any job. When you quit a first job out of college, says Green, very few future employers are going to hold that against you, especially if youâre able to articulate what you learned from the experience. The danger, however, is that when youâre desperate to leave a job, you might be tempted to take the first new offer you get, even if itâs wrong for you, too. âItâs okay to quit once, â Green says. âYou kind of get one freebie. But you canât let it become a pattern.â 3. Leave gracefully. Itâs important to be upfront with your employer and give the company time to prepare for your departure. If you are respectful and help out with the transition, you should be fine. âA good employer shouldnât want you to stay if youâre unhappy with the fit,â says Green. As for questions from future prospective bosses, post-college jobs of six months or less need not to be added to your resume, says Green. More than that and employers might wonder about the gap.
